A section of the Kwara State Polytechnic was carved out to provide the first set of Unilorin students with a place to receive lectures.
There were only three academic faculties available during this time period. They include art, science, and education faculty.
The area created for the students was known as the mini-campus, and they used it for six years before a portion of the university’s permanent site was finished in 1983.
As time passed, more faculties were added to the available ones, and all students were eventually relocated to the permanent site.
